My daughter started high school this week. My biggest concern was how to get her there and back without having to spend the whole day in the car since I can’t get into my wheelchair and back into the house alone. Well, fortunately, she’s at a very family oriented school that sent out an email on my behalf letting everyone know the situation. I got a call from a family who lives just down the road that wanted to help. I was so thankful! They are from Long Island, NY and he is a retired NYC police officer and she’s the typical Italian, New Yorker kind of mom. They have a 5th grader and a sixth grader at Alexa’s new school, plus an exchange student from the Chech Republic who is a senior.
It was enough that they would transport Alexa, but God is good about giving us beyond what we can ask or imagine. I was told immediately that I had been adopted and to just give up because I was stuck with them! They don’t seem to be the least bit phased by this crazy family of mine. That’s the miraculous part! I think by the end of the year there will be grooves in the road between our houses because they’re here so much!
It’s been a very busy and long week, and God has been faithful again. He’s answered my prayers for transportation for Alexa, help for me and friends/family who are willing to live in community all in one shot. I can’t complain!
Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
